Marina Ibiza: the first marina in the world to use daily bioremediation
This is not a pilot or a three-month trial. It is three years of continuous operation in one of the reference marinas of the Mediterranean.
Why Marina Ibiza
Marina Ibiza is one of the Mediterranean's reference marinas, with steady nautical activity all year round. It is exactly the kind of port where the daily drip of hydrocarbons — fuel dock, bilge pumps, boat traffic — creates the problem bioremediation solves best: not a one-off spill, but sustained accumulation.
How the day to day works
An operator prepares the mixture every morning and the system dispenses it automatically throughout the day. On top of that there is an operator service one to three times a week: a round with a backpack sprayer applying the product to critical points and collecting floating debris. One to three units cover the marina's accumulation zones.
Three years on
The system is still running today. It was not a temporary installation to test the concept: it is the proof that PortCleaner works in the real daily use of an active port, not just on paper.
